MIC check 1, 2....Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. My name Tania Milberg but you can call me "Milly". My best friend came up with it & I hope it catches on so, please call me Milly. Welcome to Boom Box Dancers!!!!
I created boomboxdancers.blogspot.com to be a platform where local dancers from all communities can come to connect with other dancers and for the most part find places to DANCE together. This world is full of all types of dancers, and it's amazing what the body can do with the sound of music. Here at boomboxdancers we invite all dancers; hip-hop, jazz, street, break, go-go, ballet, modern and all in between.
Lets face it dancing makes our body do things we never imagined were possible. And unless you are like me, the only dancing being done for the most part is in clubs and at bars to the beat of music of the jute box. Even then we still yearn to dance much more. This blog is for the "B.F.A.B." dancer; the dancer BORN FROM A BOOMBOX. The dancers that dance to the beat of their own drum. The dancers who crypt walk down the isle at the gocerey store. The dancers that go all night in the comfort of their own home in front of the mirror to the beat of whats on their ipod. We invite dancers of all ages and level's. From moderate, beginners, intermediate, experts, and the ones beyond our imagination.
And for the dancers who are not to savy to the "hip-hop" dance culture, don't worry we have a place for you. You see although a lot of the music we dance to is hip hop, we still make an exceptional amount of effort to both DANCE & play MUSIC of other genres and cultures. Along with hip hop we dance modern, ballet, with a huge emphasis on reggeaton and ballet. We play artists such as Lil Wayne, Pit Bull, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Black Eye Peas to contrasting artist such as The Rapture, Block Party, Deadmus, Kings of Leon, Florence the Machine, ect.
We invite all kinds of music & dance suggestions. Suggestions from the community is the key to the success for this site. It's made for you, ultimately to be powered and shaped by you with the help of your questions, comments, and suggestions.
