Bitch stole my man!!! Dancer Julianne Hough is dating Ryan Seacrest.

Well not my # 1 fantasy draft, but Seacrest is the epitome of what it means to the ultimate Entertainment TV host!

The million dollar television reporter didn't interview his sweetie Julianne Hough on the Grammy red carpet. That job went to his E! Colleague Giuliana Rancic did. Rancic didn't hesitate to grill the former Dancing With The Stars pro about what she and Ryan would be doing to celebrate the romantic day.

"I don't know," said Julianne. "I just have to be ready by 6 p.m. I really have no idea."

But she figures it'll be good whatever it is. "He's pretty on top of it."

She mentioned she follows Ryan on Twitter, something that started long before their began dating. "I tweeted him something about two years ago and he didn't tweet me back." Ryan!

Julianne said she has a new album in the works and "a couple more film projects where I might be singing in them, too." Oh please woman, don't sing, don't act, just do what you do best, DANCE BITCH!

Paula Abdul’s "Live to Dance" is already Dead

Paula Abdul’s show, “Live to Dance”, has been cancelled. Can you believe it? Paula is said to be “devastated.” I heard that the ratings weren’t that good, but I never thought it would get cancelled.

I’m so sorry for Paula Abdul, because I know she really wanted this to happen. I mean the woman is a dancer herself, and she probably wanted the creators of American Idol to cringe when she made it to the top spot. Let’s be honest. I saw the show a few times and just wasn’t impressed. It was just lacking something, but I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t think this will break Paula.

She will move on to other things; just not American Idol. We shall see. She has been in the business for sometime now, and will be on a television show before you know it. For now, all of us that need our Paula Abdul fix will just have to wait until the right opportunity presents itself to her.

Do we even need another dance competition anyway? I seriously doubt it. Maybe this was just bad timing. I think if there is one thing she would be really good at, it would be judging a dance competition. The show did run it’s full season so she did get to complete it.

At least she was not cancelled mid-season thank God. I think Paula is not done yet, we will get to see her soon. Just you wait!

Mila Kunis Says “I Will Never Dance Again”

Mila Kunis Says “I Will Never Dance Again”. She lost 20 pounds, tore a ligament, dislocated a shoulder and trained for several months. But when Mila Kunis, star of Black Swan, recalls her injuries she quickly adds, “And it was worth every minute.”

In a recent interview with W Magazine (via The Huffington Post), the edgy ballerina says training for the movie resulted in several bruises. She recalls, “I had never danced in my life. I trained for four months, seven days a week, five hours a day. I had one day off on my birthday.”

Although she admits it was worth every minute, she adds,”But I will never dance again. I’m a strong believer in mind over matter, but I didn’t fully understand what that meant until this production.”

Yesterday YMCA Breaking to Benefit

Yesterday hundreds of San Diego's best break & street dancers came together for the annual "Break to Benefit" dance off fundraiser.


The Encinitas, Ca YMCA wood floor spaces were packed with handfuls of the bayside city's best performers showing off their skills in freestyle break dance for fun or to compete for the prestigious title, " break dancers of the year". This year the guys were most definitely served, as break dance crews of girls continued to dominate as they climbed the ranks past preliminary to the finals in the dance off!

Fans will get two Britneys for the price of one in 'HIAM' video, which premieres on MTV next Thursday.

It looks like Britney Spears is in a throwdown with herself in the video for "Hold It Against Me." In the latest, very brief teaser for the video, one Britney knocks down a second Britney (or Britney look-alike) with a blow to the face.

The teaser opens with a shot of two sets of feet, perfectly accessorized in high platform shoes. The camera pans up to show that one blond woman, dressed in a flowing gown, is punching another blond woman, also in a flowing gown, sending her flying through the air and onto the ground in slow motion. The two versions of Britney appear to be in some sort of battle for Britney supremacy.

With less than a week until the actual premiere of the video, fans have been given bits and pieces of the puzzle that is the Jonas Åkerlund-directed video.

"Anything that he does is magical. His eye for art is insane, so I was excited to work with someone who loves art so much, and it's not just a job, it's not technical — it really is a string aesthetic to what he does," the video's choreographer Brian Friedman
said recently about the video's director.

"I really feel like bringing two artists together in a way like that — where the director really loves the dance and understands the art of the dance and doesn't try to cover it up and water it down — is the best way to go," he added. "He was genius for me with dance."

Spears began rolling out teasers for the video last Friday, two weeks before the video's February 17 premiere on MTV. The much-anticipated clip will air on MTV and MTV.com Thursday at 9:56 p.m. ET, right before a new episode of "Jersey Shore."

Brett Favre: Kurt Warner Urges Brett Favre to Dance with the Stars

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner wants retired and future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre to go on the ABC show Dancing with the Stars.

Although some sources think there's no way ABC would make Favre a contestant on the family-friendly show based on his past transgressions off the field, Warner said "controversy is good for ratings."

Warner has been a contestant on the show and seems to be all the rage for celebrities and retired sports figures alike.

But as mentioned by Pop Eater, I'd rather see Cincinnati Bengals receiver Terrell Owens on the show.

Hmmm, an old guy who kinda creeps me out compared to a receiver made for TV (however horrible that may be)?
I'd think Owens would not only be a better dancer, but also comes with a bit of controversy himself.

Maybe Owens could dance with pal Chad Ochocinco? The disgruntled Carson Palmer?

Sounds like a ratings boost if I ever heard one.

However, this might be therapy for Favre, who seems to be connected at the hip with football. Maybe it will keep his mind off returning to the football field once again out of retirement.

Prince Kicks Kim Kardashian Off Stage at Concert for Not Dancing

Musician Prince brought reality TV star Kim Kardashian on stage with him Monday night at New York's Madison Square Garden -- then kicked her off for refusing to dance.

YouTube video posted late Monday night shows Prince dancing with an audience member before sending her back to her seat and summoning Kardashian from the front row.

Kardashian clapped but did not dance with the singer, and moments later Prince told her, "Get off the stage!"

Later in the show, Prince gave Kardashian another chance and she obliged him with some dance moves.
Kardashian's excuse? "I was so nervous I froze when Prince touched me," she wrote on Twitter. "Went up on stage AGAIN! This time

I redeemed myself! We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!"
Prince was joined later in the concert by singer Cee-Lo Green, who turned his Gnarls Barkley hit "Crazy" into a duet with Prince.

Super Bowl XLV halftime show, Make it Stop!

In theory, the Black Eyed Peas are the perfect band to play at the Super Bowl halftime show. They’re glitzy, entertaining, and it’s hard to believe that any sporting event of the last five years hasn’t played a song by the group at some point during play. Yet, they seemed to fall short during the halftime show — standing up in front of a live crowd of more than 100,000 people, the Black Eyed Peas seemed… well, as small as peas themselves.



The dancers surrounding them might have had to adhere to strict choreography, but the Peas, merely standing next to each other in a line, looked awkward, as if they didn’t have a concrete plan for what would happen after they descended from the sky (a cool effect, I’ll admit) at the beginning of the show. No matter how many awesome LED effects they could distract us with, you couldn’t mistake the fact that we were watching a small pack of four musicians — with plenty of sound problems.

The foursome began singing their feel-good hit, “I Gotta Feeling” and were quickly set off-balance as soon as Fergie’s mic cut off as she began her portion of the song. They followed up with a shrug-worthy “Boom Boom Pow,” and then shifted gears a tad: Out came Slash, playing “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” (The Super Bowl halftime show isn’t the Super Bowl halftime show without an aging rock star!)

The guitarist, however, did add some much-needed musicality to the event — that is, until Fergie began singing. As stellar a vocalist the Black Eyes Peas singer might be, classic rock certainly is not her strong suit.

Then came “Pump It” and “Let’s Get It Started,” but the Black Eyed Peas didn’t quite hit their stride, strangely enough, until they began the politically-charged!

“Where Is the Love,” performed against the backdrop of Valentine’s Day-appropriate red hearts that experienced some technical difficulties of their own — part of that pesky “V” refused to light up. (And, surprise surprise, will.i.am changed the lyrics to the tune during the show.) Usher came along to play as well, handling his “OMG” song-and-dance routine much better than he has in previous live performances. And, shockingly, the band sounded best performing what might just be their worst song to date, “The Time (Dirty Bit).”

But tell me, football and Black Eyed Peas fans: What did you think of the halftime show? Time of your life? Or time to make them stop?

Defensive lineman gave Bears fans preview of what he could do at Super Bowl

That was where Packers nose tackle B.J. Raji — the B.J. stands for Bad Jig as far as Chicago is concerned — celebrated his 18-yard interception return for a touchdown with a dance that quickly went viral all over the Internet, keeping many fan's up laughing with Raji.

Punctuating the biggest play that kept the Bears from the Super Bowl, Raji put his hands on his hips as he swiveled them, all 337 pounds of the defensive lineman jiggling to mark the Packers' joyous occasion. It made Raji the heaviest NFL player to score a postseason touchdown since William "Refrigerator'' Perry spiked the ball in Super Bowl XX for the Bears.

Raji gave his dance an A-plus and says he looks forward to showing the world his tsunami once again!

7th at bat, & at the start of the beat her body never quit. She had the adrenaline & sexual appeal of Britney Spears( that is, in one of her better dance video's & coordination of Julianne Hough from her neck, to hips and back down to her feet.

At the auditions, Carina told us she has aspired to be a club dancer for years, but was never offered a gig.

5 minutes later the Chula Vista native found out she got a final call back! Congrats Carina! We look forward to see you shake it on the dance floor!

Vanish Nightclub Dance Auditions tonight

Tonight I attended the Vanish Night Club "Go-go" dancer auditions. Although sadly I did not get a second call back, on the upside I got the opportunity to meet other dancers as passionate about dance as myself. Some where good, some where experienced, & some where straight up out of this world, setting the bar extremely high! To top it off, the night couldn't have been more surprising as headline dancer of FLUXX San Diego and Boom Box Dancer icon Chloe Nevermore sat in for the auditions, as her friend was the main judge. You can imagine how ecstatic I was, even a little nervous!





One thing is for sure thought, "Vanish" will be remarkable, from head to toe! Along with auditioning dancers, managers are putting together the last few bits of the under ground club together in time for it's opening night, expected to be the end of this month. It's called "Vanish" hence it's vanished stair cases down into a basement far beneath 5th & F street in the Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego! In fact, I almost gave up looking for the audition. It wasn't until a friend/dancer of mine who was also auditioning for the gig pointed out the club was far underground.

When I finally arrived, nearly 3 stair cases below sea level, what I saw was phenomenal. I can tell you from personal experience this new underground hotspot will be off the hook with VIP rooms, booths, huge bar, & the dancers WILL BE outstanding!

You will often see dancers swinging and dancing on roped poles hung from as high as 25feet off the ground.Not only are the girls talented, but extremely attractive too! Did Britney get a double for Hold it Against me?

Yeah, we're going to call bull shit on this!

Multiple sources close to production of Britney Spears' music video for her new single, Hold It Against Me, are claiming that the pop star was unable to keep up with the fast-paced dance routine, and director Jonas Akerlund ultimately got so upset that he asked her dance-double, Allison Kyler, to step in - leaving Brit Brit in tears!






However, a rep for the singer claims:

"The accusations could not be further from the truth. Britney worked extremely hard on this video and rehearsed for six weeks prior to shooting. Fans will immediately see how inaccurate these claims are once they see the video."

And Akerlund himself asserts:

"[Britney's] been great throughout the entire process. At the end of the shoot I got the warmest hug I ever got from an artist, and I look forward to hugging her again very soon! I've been around long enough to know when an artist gives it their all, and to me It doesn't get better than this. This video is gonna be fucking awsome. It's all Britney."

Unbelievable!

Right now, we tend to think that these 'sources' are just hating, but we suppose we won't find out until the video premieres!

People just can't handle our gurl's greatness! Such a shame!

9 yr old sets Dance dance record

HERNDON, Va., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A Virginia boy set a Guinness World Record for "Youngest Gamer to Achieve a Perfect Score on 'Dance Dance Revolution'" at the age of 9.



Ted Wada of Herndon said his son, Ryota Wada, 10, attempted the perfect score on the "Expert" level of the song "Heavy Eurobeat" and perfectly executed all 223 steps and 16 combinations last year, when he was 9, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

"It is a great honor for him," Wada said.

Ryota Wada said he has spent hundreds of hours on the game after first taking it up with his father, who used it as a tool to loose weight.

"Other kids say DDR is an adult game and it's very hard," the boy said. "I can do it very well. Why, I don't know. I think maybe because I can catch rhythm easily."

Usher to teach dance to Beckham's kids?

Soccer ace David Beckham has asked singer Usher to give his sons some dance lessons.

The sports star, who has three sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 4, with wife Victoria Beckham, wants his kids to learn how to groove, contactmusic reports.

Usher said: "David's a good friend of mine. I got a call from him about two months ago and we were catching up. One of the things we talked about was that he wanted his sons to have dance lessons."

"He wanted to start them off in Los Angeles and I said that I'd help. He thought it would be fun for them. It would be good to catch up with them, they're such a pleasant family."

Rose won't dance during All-Star intros

CHICAGO -- Derrick Rose is willing to do almost anything to get the Bulls back on the national stage. But he won't dance ... at least not at the All-Star Game.

The Bulls 22-year-old Bulls point guard said he wouldn't partake in the usual freestyle dancing that All-Star starters love to put on display during pregame introductions.

"I'm not doing that," Rose said before Friday night's game against the Orlando Magic. "I'm ... not ... doing ... that. No, I'm not dancing. They'll be mad. I'm not doing that. That's just ... Oh my God."

Rose didn't dance on his way out to the floor last year before last year's game in Dallas, and he isn't about to start a new trend now.

"I'm going to look silly," he said. "Then they show that video forever. They show it forever so it's going to be bad. I hope (I don't have to). You just made me think about it."

Rose isn't so much afraid of what family and friends will say, he just knows that it will probably be bad. "It's just me embarrassing myself," he said. "That's something I wouldn't do. Everybody's going to be watching, then people are going to be talking about it, tweeting it and facebooking it."

Rose says he dances -- just not out in public. "Barbecues, stuff like that," he said. "Intimate little things. Not (any) arena filled (with fans)."The possibility for embarrassment is too much for Rose to handle as far as dancing in concerned. He cringed last year when some of All Star teammates got crazy before the game.

"I don't like seeing people embarrass themselves," Rose said. "Like in a movie, I'll turn the channel if somebody's about to embarrass themselves or something like that. So for me to do it, it would be crazy. Unless it's like a rookie starting [and older players are saying] you got to do it, I'll have to do it. but if not I'm not doing it."

Rose wants to let his play do the talking. Aside from the dancing, he knows that becoming an All-Star starter is the next step in his progression

Practice makes it so even a Surfer can 'Forward Floor Jump'

Who said surfers can't dance, however based on their perfectly tones physiques you would think they did! Here is a 10 second clip of a surfer attempting a traditional power dance move commonly seen by back up dancers in Usher, Chris Brown, or Justin Timberlake shows. When asked "How many times did it take you to land that jump", the surfer responded by saying " I did it like 30 times than all of a sudden I was standing up and I was so happy. It took me a few seconds to realize I had pulled it off!"

Since then, the surfer lands on his first try every attempt. Just shows with practice makes perfect, in anything you want to pursue, but especially in the art of dance. In dance, we move to discover motions we never thought our bodies were capable of. With practice we learn, we hurt, but we eventually conquer. The adrenaline rush we get at the end of .5 second dance move, is all worth every minute, hour, or day(s) of practice!

How to attempt the Floor Forward Jump:

Place both hands on the ground just above your shoulders. Your hands will remain in this position until you have become airborne. Raise both knees to the chest while shifting your weight onto your shoulders. Simultaneously bridge your back while thrusting your hips skyward, and driving your toes back toward the ground. Your hands stay anchored into the ground and are generally used only for support until the momentum created by the whipping action of your hips and feet are complete then they too will swing forward. If you are lacking in flexibility spread your feet wide on the landing. Some people also find that keeping their feet closer to their hips while drawing up the knees helps. This movement will take practice due to the body mechanics involved. To increase your flexibility for this movement try the gymnastics bridge.

Katie Couric To Perform Dance Routine On Glee

KATIE COURIC will perform a dance routine on GLEE when she makes her much-anticipated appearance on the show's 'Super Bowl' episode.

KATIE COURIC, the 54-year-old American newsreader and television personality, will dance with MATTHEW MORRISON in an episode of GLEE set to air on 6th February 2011, reports Entertainment Tonight.
32-year-old Morrison confirmed that he would be dancing with the news anchor when he spoke with radio host RYAN SEACREST earlier this week and added that it was "a blast" working with Couric.

The KATIE COURIC episode of Glee, titled 'The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle' is reported to have been the most expensive yet, costing between $3-5 million to complete. As well as Couric's cameo the episode will feature the cast performing MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Thriller' with stars LEA MICHELE, HEATHER MORRIS and DIANNA AGRON playing zombies.

Fireworks on Live to Dance

It wasn't too long into Wednesday night's last semifinal round on "Live to Dance" before it was apparent which act would get the judges' vote to move forward.

The all-male troupe of Dance Town Chaos blew the roof off the place, aided by war paint and shiny gold flags and capes (same color as the stars they received from all three judges).

However, Kendall Glover, who performed to "Firework" by Katy Perry, may have been the best combination of performer and song this show has seen (and boy, there have been some bad ones). Just the speed at which she was able to pull off those moves! Flawless. (And Travis inexplicably gave her a red star, which may actually help her get votes.)

Dancer of the Week: Ryan Ramirez dance Shark

In the world on hip-hop and break dance, local dance studio's in North County would not be as prominent today, if it wasn't for dance teachers like Ryan Ramirez.

The San Diego native, and Encinitas local has inspired young dancers through his forcefully danced & aggressively taught classes 429 Dance Studio, in Encinitas Ca.

As a result, more and more Encinitas dance studio's are filling up with aspiring student dancers, eager to collaborate with Ramirez. Teaching dancers of all ages, college & high school students, to mini boppers as young as four, Ryan has permanently replaced the meaning of what it means to be a traditional dance teacher.

The break dancer is also a member of one of San Diego's most established dance crews called "Uncomfortably Fresh". During his leisure time, the performer enjoys to organize dance fundraisers and events for low income San Diego dance studio's.

February 12, the 24 yr old will be conducting a dance competition at the Encinitas YMCA with entry fee of $5 to raise money for kids in the Encinitas dance community. We sat down with the performer to find out how dancing became a significant part of his life.

1) Ryan, how & when did you get into dance? I got into dance my junoir year in high school when I was 17 years old. I had a lot of dancers friends that did regular hip hop but it didnt catch my eye. Then I saw one of my fiends brother break dancing at a practice and i was hooked from then on.

2) What are your favorite style of dance do dance personally? In order are Break Dancing, Hip Hop, House, Salsa, Lyrical

3) You are a very experienced break dancer, a very
challenging form of dance? How long did it take you to learn?
It is very challenging. I've been dancing for 7 years now and Im still learning to this day. Theres so many moves out there to keep you busy.

4) How many hours a week do you spend dancing? It really depends on my scedule but im usually getting at least 6-8hrs a week.

5) What types of style music are your favorite to dance to?
Original Hip Hop, Funk, House, anything latin, and pretty much really anything. I love all types of music. A true dancer can dance to anything.

6) Do you practice dance in the mirror at home? Yes I do. I have closet mirrors so when im bored I start practicing.

7) Are there any particular dancers in the media you admire? JabbaWockees, Poreotics

8) Do you watch dance shows like "America's Best Dance Crew, Dancing
with the Stars, or Do you think you can Dance?"
I'll only watch these shows if my friends our on them.

9) What advice to you have for young dancers who hope to become "experienced"? To always stay focused and just have fun at what you do. Dance in a art form so dance your dance.

The Green Bay Packers' budding showman resorted to instinct, rolling his hips like a belly dancer while celebrating the score that proved the final margin of victory this past Sunday in his team's 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship Game. How a bet triggered the Petko Dance

Andrea Petkovic is not your average tennis player. She's the German up-and-comer who busts out into a joyous jig - which she calls the "Petko Dance" - following every win. She's the Serbian-born music lover whose interest in her conflict-ravaged country of origin has her eyeing a political career when she leaves the women's tennis tour.



And she's the 23-year-old self-titled "Petkorazzi", a "bubbly and sensitive" young woman who credits a serious knee injury incurred during the first round of the 2008 Australian Open with inspiring her now-steadfast commitment to tennis.
But more on that dance.

"It started off as a bet with my coach," Petkovic said yesterday following her straight sets upset victory over Maria Sharapova.
"He had an idea after I played a terrible summer season in the US and I got Nadia Petrova in the first round of the US Open, which was a tough draw for me back then. So he said, 'If you win, you have to do something special because it's a special match for us.'

"I won 7-6 in the third, so I got the inspiration of doing a dance, and ever since it's there. I'm very superstitious, so since I'm doing the dance I'm playing much better. I try to keep it up: the playing better and the dance."

Petkovic's musician friend Phil Fill has composed an electro-pop ditty to accompany the Petko Dance and the tennis player has uploaded an instructional video for fans wishing to emulate her moves.

Her YouTube channel is peppered with a mixture of spoof videos - including one in which Petkovic poses as a news reader searching for herself - and post-match interviews featuring thoughtful reflections on her wins and losses.

"The Nutcracker" inspired 23 yr old Emily Short of Chula Vista, Ca to start ballet as a child; now, she's just finished dancing her dream role as Clara for the third season with San Diego Theatre of Performing Arts. She can't imagine being fit without dance.

So I started 11 years ago, and I've played every role from an angel to Clara. Every year, I told my parents I was going to be Clara one year. And then one year it happened. I was ecstatic. Woman attacked in Va. Beach after refusing dance

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police are looking for a man who attacked a 20-year-old woman after she refused to dance with him at a local bar.

The man tried to dance with her at Cabo Café, at 2301 Red Tide Road off Shore Drive, but she declined, said Officer Adam Bernstein, a police spokesman. The cafe admits women who are 18 or older on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Then, as she was leaving at about 1:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, he confronted her in the parking lot, he said. They argued, and the man pulled out a knife and attacked her, Bernstein said. She suffered injuries requiring stitches and staples to her forehead, he said.

The man fled, and police are working to identify and arrest him, Bernstein said. He’s described as a black male between the ages of 21 and 28, 6 feet 3 inches tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a gray skull cap and a gray T-shirt with a black design on it.

Police ask that anyone with information on this case call Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887).

Boom Box's Dancer of the week: Chloe Nevermore (Hemmat) Exclusive Interview!

Chloe Nevermore is one of San Diego's, most established dancers, although many would argue she might be one of the best on the west coast.

Her curvaceous and perfectly toned physique has a look only all dancers dream about. Today, Nevermore is the lead performer at San Diego's most renowned night club FLUXX, where she dances in front of nearly 500 club goers a night.

The charismatic and dedicated entertainer is not your average dancer, as the majority of her performances include her dancing 'static trapeze'. Swinging from ropes and metal bars hung above the dance floor as high up as 25 feet is an act the dancer makes look effortless. We sat down with the performer to get the scoop on how dancing came a major part of her life.

1) Chloe, how & when did you get into dance?
Dance has always been a part of my life. As a little girl I took jazz class and gymnastics. In high school I was on a dance team and then after high school I missed dance so much that I went to a few auditions. I didnt know what a "gogo" dancer was at the time...All I knew is that it was at a nightclub, it paid well and was fun. After a couple auditions I was hired and started dancing once or twice a week.

2) What are your favorite style of dance to dance? ( Sorry if that question sounds confusing, I'm basically asking what style type dancing is your favorite to do?)
I like to free-style. I don't have a specific style.

3) Trapeze is a very challenging form of dance? How long did it take you to learn?
Some aerial hoop and silks tricks were easy to pick up on...others I'm still trying to learn.

4) How many hours a week do you spend dancing?
5-8hours

5) How do you prepare before a performance?
At FLUXX we do shows and practice times can be anywhere from 2 hours twice a week.

6) How do you keep your physique in top shape? Do you workout, outside of when your on the job?
Yes, I hate the gym though, even though I dont like going to the gym sometimes I feel like I have to so I will go once or twice a week. I love to hike! and on occasion I will go to bikrams yoga. I like outdoor activity, taking my dog to the dog beach or dog park and running around with them. Going on jogs in La Jolla or through Sea Port Village are fun too. So I do a lot of cardio. I try to do an ab workout once a week.

7) You are currently San Diego's lead headline dance performer at FLUXX San Diego. What is that like?
FLUXX is the most amazing club I have ever worked at (sorry other venues)...The main reason for this is because of the staff. Surrounding myself with amazing people really helps me be the best I can be. We are a close family at FLUXX :)

8) What types of style music are your favorite to dance to?
I love dub-step but I rarley get it. My favorite DJ's to dance to are DJ Sid Viscious and DJ Cobra. House and hip hop mixed with a little top 40.

9) Do you dance in the mirror at home?
No. Haha

10) Are there any particular dancers in the media you admire? CIARA! also Justin Timberlake & Usher cause sex appeal is everything!

11) Do you watch dance shows like "America's Best Dance Crew, Dancing with the Stars, or Do you think you can Dance?"
When I come across it on TV I will watch for a minute... but I rarley watch TV. I have a few specific shows I LOVE "true blood" and "the office" so I mostly try to catch those.

12) What are your thoughts on the term "Go-Go" dancer?
I dont consider myself or any of my FLUXX dancers "gogo's" because I believe that we are so much more. We do shows, skits, aerial work and more. My style isnt anything like what I would say is "gogo"

13) When you aren't dancing, how do you spend your leisure time? I love to spend time with my Fiance. We love to travel and spend time with our dogs! I spend a lot of time with my family and friends too :)

14) What advice do you have for dancers who hope to explore the sport as a career?
If you think you have what it takes then pursue it! If you dont have what it takes then work at it until you do or purse another job:) I personally dont think the type of dancing I do is a long term career. I love it so much and it's hard to say that. I would like to move onto management after dancing. That wont be for a very long time but when that time comes that I quit dancing I would love to be a manager. I have a clothing line "Tainted Entropy" and that is also a big part of my life.

The superstar singer Justin Bieber has become a global star and has fans all over the world that are looking forward to the release of the new film, "Never Say Never". The 3-D film, Never Say Never will premiere next month, and the trailer for the film has the fans excited to see what life is like for the superstar. The film explore's backstage rehearsals from vocal lessons, dance practice, and proves that apart from stage performance he can play the drums exceptionally well. In the past, Justin Bieber has merely teased fans with funky dance moves, but in the new video for his single "Somebody to Love," the teen pop star really lets loose, showing off some impressive choreography with his mentor Usher trading moves. The song will be featured in the pop stars new film.

Amy Adams, Jason Segel Dance For 'Muppets'

The newest Muppets movie looks like it's a rockin' good time.
Jason Segel and Amy Adams were photographed dancing in the streets of Los Angeles while filming on Monday. Segal and James Bobin are directing this latest Muppets saga, in which Kermit and crew try to save their theater from demolition.



The movie has an all-star human cast to go along with the legendary puppets: Jack Black, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Zach Galifianakis, Rashida Jones, Ricky Gervais, Katy Perry and Billy Crystal are all slated to appear in the film.
The Muppets is schedule to open Nov. 23, 2011.

Apparently people have a problem with halftime lap dances?!

When you’re a struggling pro sport looking for ways to draw fans, my suggestion to you is the same as it always has been: please resist the temptation to have a halftime lap dance contest. Sure, they’re fun … and it’s a good way to begin that sex education talk with your kids that you’ve been putting off. But the fallout just isn’t worth it.

The Boston Blazers pro lacrosse team is taking heat for its latest promotion, last nights halftime lap dance contest. As you can somewhat see in the cell phone video below, the Blazers’ mascot, Scorch, is seated in a chair in the middle of TD Garden as several ladies compete to see who can favor him with the best lap dance.The entire incident is currently “trending on Google,” which is the same thing you can say for Scorch’s pants, if you know what I mean.

“They put this red carpet down and there’s Scorch sitting in a chair,” said Blazers fan Catherine Smith. “And you see girls walking up to him and start giving him a lap dance. And it’s like what’s going on. I kind of had to let the shock run through me, it was really weird.”

It was all a promotion to see who gave Scorch the best lap dance emceed by a local DJ.
Those three lap dances were also broadcast on the Garden Jumbo-Tron. Fans were outraged, especially Kelsey-Dana Trombas, who was at the game with six of her cousins, ages 10 years and younger, all watching a sport that is desperately trying to build a fan base. Good luck with that!

“At the end of the lap dance with one of the girls, they did a ‘boing’ sound,” said Kelsey. “And I think we all know what that means.”

The team issued a statement on Sunday apologizing for the promotion. Meanwhile, great comedy is afoot on the Blazers’ Facebook page, where fans are debating the wisdom of the promotion.

OK, since the beginning of time, even cave men danced. I can't imagine a more original way for a person to express excitement than with a dance or two- step celebration. Dancing is a universal language that for the most part all culture's accept and understand. Especially in the world of sports, because it's athletes that are the next best dancers of the world because their agility, balance & flexibility. Which why we don't understand why football will no longer permit endzone touchdown line dance's.

In American football, where it's most common recognized, they refer to it as 'touchdown celebrations'. In 2006 the NFL, in an effort to cut down on celebrations, amended its rules to include an automatic 15 yard penalty against any player who leaves his feet or uses a prop, like a towel, or more specifically the football. The penalty is called as "excessive celebration".

Taunting and extreme celebration are both offenses in the NFL as a result, gaudy displays are often frowned upon. If the league views the act as highly offensive, large fines and even suspensions can be issued. However simply spiking the call is not considered "excessive celebration". Jumping onto the outer wall to accept contact from fans, such as a leap is also not considered such, as it is off the field of play.

Mirror Mirror on the wall, whose the better dancer of all!

Who dances in front of the mirror anymore? Is it just me or does it seem like the 'you can only do alone with the door locked hobby' is dying out? I hope not! After all isn't dancing in the mirror the best way to rehearse our dance moves. If your a dancer looking to perfect your craft, trust me the mirror is your best friend. You would be surprised how fast a dance session in front of the mirror can brighten up your day. And not only can dancing in front of the mirror put a smile on a face, but watching dancers on Youtube bust a move in front of there mirror's can evoke a few laughs from viewers watching at home.

Last night I stayed up surfing through youtube videos of people dancing in front of there mirror at home. I saw all kinds of moves being busted. Some good, some bad, and some very POW POW POW, if you know what I mean. I saw girls with train & cabooses doing the "DUN DUN DUN DUNNN!" I thought my computer screen was going to explode. Along the top notch pop lock and dropping, I encountered some internet crypt walking, gypsy belly dancing while other's clearly came back from watching Black Swan as their toes stayed more pointed than the needle nose of my next door neighbor.

Some danced in booty shorts & braw's while other's danced in sweatpants and t-shirts. Regardless of what they were wearing, watching them get down was quite the entertainment.

Britney Spears' 'Hold It Against Me' Tops iTunes In 16 Countries

Forget any arguments that Britney Spears is some kind of underdog; with the release of her latest tune, "Hold It Against Me," earlier this week, the singer is certainly proving that she's still at the top of the pop heap. Her manager, Adam Leber, tweeted that the singer was (as of press time) at the top of the iTunes charts in 16 countries: the U.S., Sweden, Australia, Greece, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal and Spain.

"This is absolutely incredible!" Leber wrote. "Brit's fans never cease to amaze me." In addition to thanking the fans, Leber also shared that Brit is hard at work on the video for the track. "Went 2 dance rehearsals yesterday with @BritneySpears & @brianfriedman. HIAM video is going to be incredible to say the least. More to come," he tweeted Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday, Britney Spears thanked fans for all the support they've been showing the lead single from Brit's March album. "Couldn't of asked for a better 1/11/11..thanks to all my fans and all of the radio stations for playing HIAM!" she wrote. "I am truly blessed..."

On Tuesday, the same day the song was up for purchase on iTunes, it launched straight to #1 on the site and quickly broke all previous radio records for the most spins in the first day of release. GO GO DANCER IS SO GOING GOING GONE!

Is it just me or is the term "Go Go Dancer" played out. To me it carry's an old school jute box, dancing on a pole ring to it wouldn't you say?! I mean come on, the title sounds so 1960's, as it was originally given to entertainers of that time who were employed to entertain crowds at a discotheque. That's DISCO-TECH, if it appeared nearly as confusing to you as it did me.

I think it's time we give the profession a more hip and sexy title, considering club dancer's are still highly respected in the industry as long as they stick to not showing the canned goods. It's time we gave the profession a new name, after all it's obvious we are no longer dancing in peppermint lounge's doing "the twist".

And common on lets face it, Go Go dancers most certainly don't wear Go Go BOOTS anymore. Those clunky platform Austin Powered 70's themed stilts are fashion and dance suicide for any professional dancer. Personally I still can''t figure out how that moon boot became a dancers hot commodity gear at one point in history. I say, gone with the Go Go Boots, and gone with the Go Go!

According to Webster's Dictionary, what I found most interesting other than than the fact that according to Webster "Go Go Dancer" means "Dancer of the Devil" is the fact that I was even capable of finding the term "Go Go Dancer" in the Webster's Dictionary. Hmm "Dancer of the Devil"? Now that's a hell of a title!

OK where was I? Oh yes, a new title! Well according to Webster and other sources the term 'go go dancer' refer's to a night club dancer of abundance, galore. Go-Go derives from the phrase "go-go-go" for a high-energy person, which in turn is derived from the ancient French word la gogue for "joy, happiness"

And if history proves me right, reinvention is the culture of dance. In fact here are few of the dancing professions who's title's have slightly changed over the years: The "Street Dancer" is now called none other than the " Break Dancer". The "Moonwalker" is now formally known as the "Electric Slider". And a "Two Stepper" is now called a "Crypt Walker" I mean hey, even strippers got new more appropriate titles specific to what their tasks entail; either "Nude Dancer" or "Top Less Dancers".

So after some serious brainstorming here are the following titles I believe are best as the new name for a "Go Go Dancer" :

1) night club dancer
2) booty dancer
3) joy dancer
4) coyote dancer ( that one was inspired by Coyote Ugly the movie)
5) body dancer
7) step dancer
8) performance dancer
9) hey even "cage" dancer is fine by me! Anything but GO GO pleeeeaaaazzzee!

Paula Abdul's new reality show "Live to Dance" has announced six acts who will compete in the next live semi-final episode on Wednesday, January 19. But more importantly, Paula Abdul has proved that she is capable of efficiently communicating herself with complete sentences that make sense! She got through the first round of joint episodes without having once stumbled her words. Someone's PR team has clearly been being paid double.

As for the chosen acts, two out of a previous group of six on Wednesday night are set to secure a spot in the finals. The judges picked the ensemble group The Vibe, which performed to an instrumental medley of Beethoven's fifth symphony and Michael Jackson's song "Smooth Criminal."

A second act was chosen by viewers and will be revealed next week. Six dancers or groups will compete in the final episode following three semi-final rounds, CBS says.

The six acts set to perform on Wednesday are:

- Jalen Testerman, 9, from Seattle
- Du-Shaunt Stegall, 16, from Las Vegas
- The duo Dance in Flight, made up of Cate Caplin, 50, and Gary Franco, 44, from Los Angeles
- Dax and Sarah Breck, aged 29 and 23, from Los Angeles
-The duo White Tree Fine Art, made up of Ethan and Nicole White, aged 35 and 28 from San Francisco
- The teenage ensemble Twitch.

WHAT DANCERS DO YOU WANT TO SEE TO MOVE TO THE SECOND ROUNDS?

Black Swan, Ballet, and Black tie award shows!!!

The film was very dark, and showed the negative side of a ballerina living a very unbalanced life. It was as if the writers, director, and actors decided to go "all in" in order to be make as scary and suspenseful scenes as possible. It was as though they thought, "let's imagine what the life of the craziest ballerina and artistic director could be, and make it into a screenplay" lol. Director, Darren Aronofsky, was also the director of Requiem for a Dream and the Wrestler. It seems he's eager to get involved with projects where addiction or obsession of any sort (dance, drugs) are the through line. In this movie Nina Sawyer (Natalie Portman) is living life (ballet) as an all consuming obsession. She has nothing else in life besides dance. Portman's character also seems to have a significant relationship with masturbation. The film also co-stars Milla Kuniz, with a short cameo featuring Winona Ryder.
The emotional roller coaster of dramatic scenes makes for an interesting movie, anyway.

Ballet is certainly an intense form of dance that run your feet down, in dedication to become ballet's respected title the 'premi ballerina'. In this film we see the things in Nina Sawyers dance practice that lies in and out of her control (no matter how hard she tires to dance "perfection") including the look, the technique, the acting, and the presence. That, being something we can all relate to as dancers. I highly recommend this movie, and believe Natalie Portman should be nominated for a Golden Globe as well Oscar. WHAT ARE YOUR TAKES ON THE MOVIE?

Straight up now tell me your not seriously letting Paula judge another talent competition?!!

A year after parting ways with "American Idol," Paula Abdul is aiming to prove singing isn't the only talent she can judge, and that the phrase "you know" is the new way of saying you got my vote! Her new role is to be lead expert on the upcoming CBS reality competition "Live to Dance," that is if she can seem to keep her eyes on the dancers versus stumbling over her words at the mercy of her birds nest hair do.

While she has turned head's throughout the years known for physical talents that don't include crying uncontrollably, the question still remains, is the former Laker girl capable of taking on such a sobering responsibility? I mean don't you think executives should have given the position a more sobering and qualified individual, such as Karina Smirnoff, Cherly Burke, hey even Pop princess Britney Spears might make a better judge. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Britney's morning coffee came from the same brewer as Abduls, the one filtered with Baileys. Will Paula pull off an upstanding judge while managing to sit up staright for a straight minute of broadcasting? Can she? Or will she fall through the cracks of her own alcoholic and fame induced self destructive missouri for our personal entertainment.

Many people think if she wasn't high or drunk all the time, she'd probably be better. It seem's more often than not Abdul gets started on saying something and forgets her point, then stumbles on and on inevitably making no sense whatsoever. But hey, if uncomfortable and sometimes staggering content of an emotional bi polar woman who is clearly often drunk and has trouble completing full sentence's makes for good live television, by all means, cheers to you Paula! Ain't nothing wrong with that!

As for the show itself, executive producers at CBS say that "Live to Dance" will be a hit show as directors have made a huge effort in bringing the best dancers of all ages and genres from all over the world become known! And that so far, the majority of the casted talents have far exceeded choreographer expectations.

Be sure to watch "Live to Dance" to scope out America's next best dancers & Paula's train wreck of communication crash and burn faster than her Bravo TV show "Hey Paula" which bombed at only 6,000 viewers into it's second episode. (Probably because she was always on the bottle)

Where did you bust a move today?

Today I was at Ralph's buying groceries. 10 minutes in I found myself "crypt" walking ( or so I think ) down the isle. This time though I wasn't wired into my ipod. It was to "Bye Bye Bye" by NYSNC, playing within the store. As soon as I got home I couldn't wait to drop the paper bags, then bumped the boombox and two stepped in the center of my living room loving every minute of it for the next 54 minutes! Agh it felt so good!
